The History of LinQuenda Farm
During 1958 the Henke family acquired the farm Linquenda and after all these years the family still lives on the farm and are part of the community.
The property was used for various farming activities, but with water becoming a vital source, the decision was made in 1991 to drill for an alternative water source. A high yield source of mineral rich water was discovered in deep granite formations. The water was used as a lifeline for the farming crops and livestock.
With water becoming more of a scarce source, the decision was made in 2017 to appoint a hydrologist to survey and evaluate the water source for future bottling. The hydrologist presented a report that was forwarded to SANBWA (South African National Bottled Water Association) for further evaluation and after positive feedback the bottling plant was started. We partnered with the best manufacturers in the industry to provide the newly formed business with solutions and automated machinery to bottle good quality and safe water.
A brand new bottling plant was built using local workers from the nearby community, creating jobs. The designing and manufacturing of the labels etc. was almost all completed by local companies. The bottling machines was designed and commissioned by a company in Poland and imported to South Africa. We are proud to say that in the beginning of March 2019 the first water was bottled. The company strives to employ only people from the local community as community upliftment is a big part of our mission statement.
